To begin, I used OPI Suzi and the Lifeguard with Essie Ballet Slippers over the top. I used Maybelline Ivory for the ribbon and OPI Do You Lilac it? and w7 Purple Pearl for the feather. For the gem, I used Nails Inc Villiers Street and Colorama Beams of Fire and used dots of a gold glitter nail art pen around it.

Jasmine - Disney Nail Art Series
For my base colour I used Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream with Max Factor Dazzling Blue over the top. I used w7 Purple Pearl for the ribbon and an opal metallic gem sticker from nailtopia.co.uk and sealed with a topcoat.
Coming Soon: Disney Nail Art Series
I decided to do a Disney princess/prince/villain nail art series. I've already finished designs for 18 characters from various Disney films, can you guess what they are?
Most of the designs are inspired by the costume the character wears and colours I associate them with.
Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted all the step-by-step pictures I took of the nails so I'll only be able to post pictures of the finished product.
If you have any other characters or ideas you'd like me to do let me know either in the comments below this post or on my twitter- www.twitter.com/Shari89 and I can add them to this series.
I'll be posting the first design tonight!
I'll add links to the blog posts for each seperate nail art design as I publish them.

Sparkly Gold Owl Nail Art
To begin I applied my base coat and base colour, Eyeko Cosmic Polish.
Then I drew an owl shape using Maybelline Ivory as the base, then a warm gold glitter nail art pen over the top and dots of Cosmic for eyes.
Next, I applied black rhinestones on the eyes and clear rhinestones on the body. I then used the warm gold glitter nail art pen on the ring finger and went over it with Illamasqua Harsh. I finished off with a clear top coat.
Thanks for looking!
Photography Nail Art - Request
My friend Jennifer asked me to do little cameras on nails when I asked for ideas, here's what I came up with!
Firstly I drew the cameras on a poly pocket, using the dark grey side of AFNB Smile In A Storm Trio for the entire camera, outlined it with Barry M Black, shaded with a dark grey and highlighted with Stargazer Chrome.
For the nails, I first used one coat of Barry M Cyan Blue, then changed my mind and used 2 coats of China Glaze 2Nite over the top.
Next, I painted a French tip on 3 nails using Stargazer Chrome. I wanted to create the effect of a camera's flash, I used Wet n' Wild Sparkling Diamonds, China Glaze Frosty and AFNB Stripe & Sparkle in Katleen with a sponge to give a gradient circle.
Next, I added the cameras and striped a line of Art Club Holographic along the French tips.
Finally I added black rhinestones in the centre of the lens and clear rhinestones where the flash is, then sealed with a topcoat.
If you have any requests for me either leave them in the comments at the bottom of this post or send me a message on Twitter/Facebook!
Snowflake Nail Art
To begin, I painted the nails with Illamasqua Phallic.
Then, using a sponge, I dabbed Barry M Dazzle Dust (not sure which exact colour because I took the labels off all my dazzle dusts but it's a royal blue) from the base of the nail to roughly half way up.
Next, I used a mixture of China Glaze Frosty, a pearly white nail art pen and Natural Collection Nail Tip Whitener with the same sponge to give a gradient effect to the tip of the nails. If you use a bit too much white you can just go over it again with a bit of the dazzle dust.
Next, I added the snowflakes. I freehanded the middle one using AFNB Stripe & Sparkle in Katleen and I used Konad plate m59 for the other snowflakes. I also used the glitter from Katleen on the tips of the nails.
To finish, I added a few dots of Katleen and some clear rhinestones, then finished with a topcoat to seal everything in.
Hope you enjoyed!

Sparkly Cocktail Nail Art
To begin, I first drew out different shaped glasses on a poly pocket. I used The grey polish from AFNB Trio in Smile in a Storm, then filling it in with a clear nail polish all over where the glass would be, and a white nail art pen where the drink would be.
Thumb (Tequila Sunrise): I started with a deep orange nail art pen, I only used a small amount at the bottom of the glass, then blended it into w7 Flourescent Orange in the middle and finished off with a yellow nail art pen for the top. I used these again for the orange.
Index (Cosmotpolitan): I used w7 Flourescent purple at the bottom and blended it up with w7 Sunrise. I used true green and lime green nail art pens for the lime.
Middle (Pina Colada): I started with a bright yellow nail art pen and blended it up with Lemon Fizz from China Glaze. I used both colours plus Nails Inc Belgravia for the pineapple.
Ring (Blue Lagoon): I used OPI What's With The Cattitude for the entire glass, just adding a tiny bit of OPI Give Me The Moon at the top to blend it slightly. I used a bright yellow nail art pen and a lemony-lime colour nail art pen for the lemon.
Pinkie (green): I used a sheer lime nail art pen to fill in the entire glass and then used a green nail art pen to draw the mint leaves.
I painted a coat of clear polish over the top of them all to seal them.
For the nails, I used Essie Ballet Slippers as my base colour and added a black tip with Eyeko Cosmic polish.
Then I added a different coloured line to each nail where the black meets my base colour and added my cocktails.
Then I outlined the glasses with a white nail art pen to make them stand out a bit more. I added a few coloured rhinestones to each nail and GOSH Magic Star over the cocktails and then my topcoat!
Hope you enjoyed :)

Rhinestone Skull Nail Art
I'm using practice manicure fingers with fake nails, I'll probably use them quite frequently for my blog if I'm already wearing nail art that I want to keep on for a while.
I didn't take pictures step by step because my camera's battery was low, sorry!
To start, I applied Barry M Black to the nails except what would be the ring finger. For the ring finger I applied w7 Flourescent Purple (which is actually a pink) with w7 Pink Dazzle over the top.
For the tips of the black nails, I painted a french tip with Flourescent Purple and Pink Dazzle and then painted a thin line where the pink stops using a silver nail art pen.
For the skull I used a black nail art pen to draw eyes, a nose, teeth and the head shape, then filled it all in with black and hot pink rhinestones.
You can choose whether you want to add a topcoat to the rhinestones or not. A topcoat will seal it in and the rhinestones will be less likely to fall off, but it'll reduce the sparkle of the stones. It's upto you! I added a topcoat to this nail because I want it to last.
Hope you enjoyed!

Harry Potter Themed Nail Art
To begin, I applied my base coat and base colours:
Thumb: Nails Inc Villiers Street with w7 Cerise Pink over the top
Index: Illamasqua Phallic with w7 Blue Dazzle over the top
Middle: Beautyuk Go Green with Max Factor Dazzling Blue and w7 Green Dazzle over the top
Ring: China Glaze Lemon Fizz with a bright yellow nail art pen and Max Factor Ivory over the top
Pinkie: Barry M Black
Then I applied polish at the base of my nail (excluding my pinkie) in a crescent shape.
Thumb: a gold colour nail art pen with a gold glitter nail art pen over the top
Index: a silver colour nail art pen with a silver glitter nail art pen over the top
Middle: same as index
Ring: black nail art pen with Max Factor Ivory over the top
Pinkie: I drew the Deathly Hallows sign with a white nail art pen.
Before I started painting my nails, I found pictures of the Hogwarts house crests from Google. I printed them out on normal printer paper and cut round them. This took the most time because they were tiny and weren't just a simple shape to cut round.
At first I stuck them onto my nails with a clear top coat but it wasn't sticking very well so I used nail glue when I did my other hand. I placed them roughly in the middle of where my base colour and crescent shape met. I applied quite a few layers of top coat because I've never used normal paper for nail art before so I'm not quite sure how it'll stick. I might try adding another layer of top coat every day too, just for a bit of extra protection.

Roses and Stars Nail Art
For this nail art look I did a few coats of my Rimmel Whitener to make my nails white but not opaque, then went over it with a coat of China Glaze Frosty.
Then, I used RMK Holographic Pink on the Konad m54 plate. I used the design with roses, I didn't actually use the full image, just the two roses on it. Then I randomly stamped them on my nails.
I fancied something a bit different for my left hand, I used the same base coat and colour, but used Illamasqua Phallic on the star image on the Konad m3 plate. I also used Stargazer Chrome to do one big star from the same design at the lower corner of my nail.
After that I added a couple coats of topcoat.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Konad!
I'll be using Konad plates in some upcoming nail art designs, so I thought I'd write a bit about what Konad is, so you know what I'm talking about when I use it in blog posts and so you know where to get it and how to use it yourself!
Konad is a nail art stamping system where you can get hundreds of intricate designs on your nails. You can actually use it to decorate things like your phone too if you wanted.
It's basically metal plates with pictures on them, you put nail polish over the image, scrape it away with the scraper, pick it up with the stamper and then aim and roll and it'll transfer it onto your nails. It might sound a bit complicated but I'll include a video I found about it at the end of this blog post.
Here's what a Konad plate looks like. This is m59
I get my Konad stuff from http://www.konad.co.uk/
What you need:
You'll need a Konad plate, you can get as many as you want, I'd suggest just getting one to begin with so you can practice a bit.
You need the scraper, I've seen people use a razor blade but it's more likely to scratch your image plate so I'd just stick with the scraper you can buy from them.
The stamper, you can either get a single stamper or a double sided stamper which has a small side and a large side. I recommend the double sided stamper because you can use the small side for small designs and the big side for larger designs.
They also sell special nail polish, it's a lot thicker than normal nail polish and you can't paint your nails with it, otherwise it would take ages to dry, so you can only really use it for Konad. To be honest I use regular polish with my Konad, I do have a few Konad polishes but there's not much difference, it just depends what nail polish you use. For example, I've found creamy nail polishes aren't bad, and chrome, metallic or holographic polishes work well. Glitters or shimmery polishes don't work, or at least I can't get them to work.
You don't need the image plate holder, just make sure you put something down on the surface you're working on, like newspaper or something, you don't want the nail polish getting everywhere.
What you do:
To start, paint your nails any colour and any brand you like and let them dry. Take your Konad plate and apply nail polish to the image you want. Then scrape it away from the image at a 45 degree angle. Take your stamper and firmly roll it on top of your image from one side to the other. Check the image has lifted properly and then aim it next to your nail and roll firmly from one side to the other. Try to do these steps as quickly as possible (without rushing it and making a mess) you don't want to leave it long enough that the polish will dry either on the plate or the stamper or it won't transfer and you'll need to start again. Clean up any excess with a cotton bud and nail polish remover. Use a topcoat because the image will just scratch off after a while.
Don't worry if you don't get it right first time. It took A LOT of practice for me to do it properly and even now I've seen myself do one nail 10 times over because it just won't work properly. It's frustrating but you'll get there in the end.
If you find you have problems with your image transferring onto your stamper, try filing your stamper with a nail file. When you get it, it'll be really smooth, but file it just enough so that smooth surface is a tiny bit rougher, that should help pick up the image.
Here's what an image looks like on the stamper
Konad is amazing, I definately recommend it, you can get so many different designs and it's much easier than freehanding designs, especially if you're doing it yourself.
Here are some designs I did
I hope you enjoyed, well done if you read this far!
Have a look at this video, it shows how to do pretty much everything I've explained :)
If there's something I haven't answered you'd like to know leave your questions in the comments below and I'll add them to this blog post!

Birthday Cupcake Nail Art
It's my 21st birthday tomorrow! So I thought I'd do some birthday cake inspired nails :)
To start, I drew different sized cupcakes on a poly pocket, using Revlon Nude Chic and Nails Inc Belgravia for the cake, and OPI Mod About You, OPI Princesses Rule, Andrea Fulerton Stripe & Sparkle in Katleen, OPI Mad As A Hatter and Bourjois Paillettes Disco for the icing. I used China Glaze Electric Lilac for the 21's.
For my nails, I applied my base coat and base colour, two coats of 17 Pinking Shear and one coat of China Glaze Rainbow over the top.
Then, I stuck my cupcakes on using a clear top coat.
Then, I stuck random small rhinestones wherever there was space. I used a light pink, dark pink, light purple and clear. I got mine from ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300327915658&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Finish off with a top coat to seal everything in!

Fireworks Nail Art
To start, I applied my base coat and base colour, Barry M Black.
Then, I used w7 Pink Dazzle, w7 Purple Dazzle, w7 Blue Dazzle, w7 Green Dazzle and Art Club Hologram Glitter to draw random fireworks over my nails.
Then I added a tiny bit of different colours of glitter in the centre of the fireworks. Here are the glitters I used
I used a couple of coats of my topcoat just to seal in the glitter. Finished!
Free Nails Inc With Glamour Magazine
If you don't already know, you can get a free bottle of Nails Inc nail polish, worth £11 each, with the December issue of Glamour Magazine (the one with Charlotte Church on the cover) for £2!
There are 4 colours in total: Warwick Avenue (baby pink), Hampstead Heath (dark red), Savile Row (deep plum) and Jermyn Street (taupe).
I got them all except from Jermyn Street.
Savile Row
Hampstead Heath
Warwick Avenue
All pictures were taken with 2 coats of each polish. They look slightly darker in real life than what they do in the pictures.
The formulation was great, I didn't have any problems, and the colours are opaque in 2 coats, apart from Warwick Avenue, there's still a slight visible nail line, it would maybe take 3 coats to become fully opaque.
This is a great bargain, you're paying £8 for 4 nail polishes that are worth £44 altogether.
Go out and grab these before they're all gone!
